We started this website in February 2008. Today , March 4, 2008 we have included a tribute page to Brett Favre. The website is dedicated to bringing you the present sports news and photos from around the world but it does have an emphasis on American sports.
Having grown up in the state of Florida and living in the Atlanta area for more than 20 years I ( Paul’s dad) have been an avid fan of American Football and Baseball for years. I remember many times that I enjoyed the thrilling game of college football in the stadium at The University of Florida. One particular event I recall was in the 70’s when a friend of mine and I were in attendence to cheer on The Gators against The Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were coming in undefeated 4 games into the season and Florida was 3 and 1. I happened to have my bugle with me that day. When we arrived to the stadium and found our seats we realized that we were surrounded by Mississippi State fans who had come to see the game. We were sitting behind the Bulldogs bench about 20 rows up. The Bulldog fans are well known for the cowbells they ring for their team. Well that day as The Bulldog team ran onto the field the clamoring of the cowbells their fans were ringing was silenced by a guy and his bugle. As the undefeated team ran on to the field I stood up and blew taps. That just happened to be a prelude to the Florida Gator victory that day. The friend of mine that was with me that day stared at me in shock as I was blowing taps in the middle of all the Mississippi State fans. They did not throw anything at me or slam me to the ground. In fact they looked as if they slightly appreciated that guy and his bugle who had upstaged hundreds of fans ringing their cowbells.
