Women seeking breast augmentation on the NHS for mental health reasons may face a postcode lottery because of a lack of clear guidance and evidence on who will benefit from the surgery.
This is the finding of Katie Trickey of Canterbury Christ Church University, who presents her findings at The British Psychological Society Psychology of Women Annual Conference, being held in Windsor. Other studies looked at rhinoplasty.

Fat removed from the lower abdomen and inner thigh through liposuction was found to be an excellent source of stem cells, with higher stem cell concentrations than other areas of the body, reports a Brazilian-based study in August’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery(R), the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. This is the first study of its kind to examine whether fat tissues from different areas of the body vary in stem cell concentration. It may have implications for all procedures, including Palm Springs breast reduction.
In the study, 23 female patients having liposuction in at least four different body areas agreed to have their fat isolated for adult stem cells and analyzed to determine stem cell concentrations. The body areas that were liposuctioned …

Who would have thought it? Windermere is not on Lake Windermere! In fact, it’s about 2 miles away, with ‘Bowness on Windermere’ being the small town which is on Lake Windermere.
Strangely, Windermere [town] used to be called Winandermere and before that there were actually three small hamlets [Applethwaite, Birththwaite and Heathwaite] which were combined in the 1800’s when there was a greater attempt to encourage people to visit the area.
The railway arrived in 1857, making the area much more accessible to visitors and with this demand grew a wealth of Lake District Hotels. The railway still exists today and brings people from all over the world to this special area of the Lake District National Park. As well as being a sustainable way …
