Rise in uptake of fuel cards in the last quarter

CSC Group announces a rise in the uptake of fuel cards in the last quarter of trading. This coincides quite obviously with the severe rise in fuel the UK has been subjected to this year. Just 10 years ago, a barrel of crude oil was $10. At the time of creation of this release, a barrel of crude oil was trading at $126. Due to crude oil being priced in dollars, each time the dollar drops in value, so a barrel increases but with economic slowdown in the US, the rise we are witnessing should not be as ferocious.
CSC Group provide fuel cards for the UK, Ireland and Europe giving the ability, through an approved network of fuel outlets, to issue one price for fuel across that network.
So, why get a fuel card if you have a credit card? The only similarity is in the way in which the need for carrying cash is eliminated.
The first and most obvious benefit of fuel cards would have to be the possibility of buying petrol, diesel or other fuel at a discounted price. This is such a large benefit due to the ongoing rise of fuel especially in the UK where fuel is more expensive than just about everywhere else in the world. If you have a transportation business or your company has several cars for the employees, then the fuel card is the way to go. You do not have to give a driver cash and all the invoices come with tax shown individually. This is important when operating a business because it smoothes the progress of tax recovery.
Fuel cards can be programmed in such a way that one can use them to buy one type of fuel or more depending on your needs. Because the petrol cards use Smartchip technology the number of fuelling transactions can be limited. These and other advantages make the fuel card more and more popular for both business and particular use.
